Well, ladies and gentlemen, I have finished Eve’s Destiny! (not with the help of the children, by any means!) I had so much fun recently while reading this book. The weather has finally become nice enough for me to lay outside in the nice warm sunshine with a good book. (one of my favorite things to do!) If you’d like a copy of Eve’s Destiny head on over to the Book Club Reading List and it’s right there! Well I shall not keep you waiting any longer, here’s my analysis of Eve’s Destiny, from yours truly!
Eve gets selected to manage a branch in New York, which involves her relocating from San Diego all the way over to New York. Once she get there she is introduced to her new team, one of them being Lucas Coles. The team finds out Lucas is stealing a ton of cash from the company and they fire him. A while later after Lucas is fired he comes back to the company and shoots the place up, injuring Eve. The handsome detective, who saves her life has got the hots for Eve, ultimately They fall in love and get married, living happily ever after.
You know, this book is what every girl dreams of happening to her. It is the classic love story! It has got to be the cutest thing i have ever read!
Another thing I wanted to note was the intimate parts of the book. (wink wink) They were so in detail, just what I would imagine a love story to have. At times I felt like this book could be turned into a movie. Here, let me show you an example of what I am talking about: (WARNING: hot steamy sex scene listed below, if you are easily offended, do not read further.)
“Mike couldn’t tear his eyes off her as they raked over her body hungrily. Eve was truly the sexiest woman alive. He removed her panties and crawled into bed. He trailed kisses up her inner thighs until he reached her special place. Eve arched her back as electric currents spread through her veins. Mike briefly teased her clitoris and she began to moisten. His kisses proceeded to travel up her torso and settled on her breasts. He was completely on top of her now and Eve instinctively raised her knees. Their bodies melded into each other. His lips closed around her nipple and it hardened under his command. Mike started to grind on top of Eve and she moved with him.”
I mean come on, isn’t that pretty in depth?!
At a few certain times in this book I felt like, maybe the author had taken a long break from writing and it took her a while to get back into the flow of the book. Not the entire book, but as a writer myself, at certain parts of the book it felt like she had to gain creative motivation again, then it got really good again. What I mean by that is at some points it seemed like the characters weren’t as real-feeling to me as they were previously in the book.
So, the main story line of this book is so cute! It is every girls fantasy (come on ladies, admit it!) to be saved by a handsome man then fall in love with him and live happily ever after.
However, like I said before, some points of the book, it felt like the author had taken a long break from writing, so the story wasn’t as good as it has the potential to be. So as a result I think this book deserves three stars.
Why? So, this book wasn’t terrible. Not at all. But is also wasn’t the best, and I know this kind of story could be so much better. But the times it was good, I seriously thought “Wow! This should be made into a movie!” So this author has talent, and at some points she wasn’t using it.
